The Kitchen Chronicles Cont

When I was gone in Vegas we had our hardwood floors in our kitchen refinished.  The hardwood is made of fir, so its a super soft wood.  We weren't able to stain it to look similar to the rest of our house because fir doesn't take stain to well, so we left it at its natural color which will darken with age.  It definitely has a "rustic" feel to it.  There were tons of nail hole that needed to be filled and there is some water damage spots, but all in all I think it turned out really good.
Here are a couple pictures of the kitchen in mid cabinet installation.  (See our laundry room in the background....well, that is getting a HUGE remodel, so stay tuned!)

Below is how it stands as of today and until we choose our new countertops.

We bought the sink and faucet yesterday and those hopefully will come in the mail in a few days.  This is what we chose:

We chose a single 10" deep sink and a bridge faucet.  We had a hard time finding a sink that would fit because our cabinets are not that wide.  Fingers crossed that everything will fit.  At lunch today we are going granite/terracotta tile/backsplash shopping and I'm so excited!!
